Pool Day

Since it was 109 degrees today we decided to get Ethan a cute little kids pool. The kid pools are so cool these days, this one is a whale that sprays water from its back and the tail stands up to give him some shade. Ethan definetly had enjoyed it!!

Zucchini

This what I do to plants
So imagine my surprise when I went to break off some of the overgrown leaves from my zucchini plants. They had yet to produce any zucchini that I had seen, although I never really checked, I just assume it was a lost cause. Once I got out there and started looking at the plants there was the zucchini, and lots of it!!!

OMG, do you see the zucchini sticking out...its huge!!!
Look at all that...anyone want some zucchini???

I only planted all this zucchini because on TED that was all I ate with the turkey meat and rice. Now that I am off of TED I don't want to ever eat zucchini again!!!

Again....anyone want some zucchini??

6 months old!!

I can't believe my little baby is growing up so fast. We stopped nursing him yesterday and of course I cried! The crazy kiddo looked at me like I was nuts and stopped nursing to watch my face. Poor kid has no idea!!

Here are his 6 month stats:

Height: 28 inches (95 percentile)
Weight: 17 pound (50 percentile)
Head: 17 inches (50 percentile)

And some cute pictures just for fun

He's teething (not so much fun for us!)
And he holds his own bottle (sometimes)

Squash

I made Ethan some butternut squash and he loved it!! It is definitely easier than avocado since you can make it ahead of time and freeze it. The avocado always had to be made fresh which was hard to do once he decided he was hungry!

Now that squash is yummo!!! He definitely likes this one!!

Solids!

Ethan and I went grocery shopping today for his first baby food! Don't you just love the cart cover, well I do and that's all that matters, ha!

Well, we had a follow up GI appointment and she recommended starting him on avocado. She said it was good "brain food". So we got some avocados and headed home.

The following pics are Ethan's first attempt at trying avocado

Okay, maybe not so yummo!! But it was yummy once he got to nurse afterwards!!

Too bad the poor kiddo has no one idea that as of Wednesday we are going to bottles only! (insert tear) I think I may have a harder time with this he does but it is time. I still can't eat any new foods because he keeps breaking out in rashes and my diet is making me feel awful so it is time to call it quits. I have enough milk stored to supplement with formula for the next 2-3 months. But it is still sad for me to not be able to nurse him...yes...this will be a hard thing to quit!!

My Purse

My sister (at http://www.thequickclan.blogspot.com/) tagged me in her post of what is in your purse. You can visit her site if you want to see her original post, you just have to scroll down a bit because she did this at the beginning of June and unlike me she is not a blog slacker.

Her description of me and why she wanted to see in my purse had me laughing out loud especially when I emptied my purse after running a bunch of errands. This is her reasoning for wanting to snoop in my bag.

"My sister, Michelle - this ought to be good - this a girl who wore heels thru her entire pregnancy, did abs up until the day before she had her son, and still wears heels everywhere we go while pushing a stroller and breastfeeding."

So to be completely honest I wasn't going to do this because I am total blog slacker and haven't given any Ethan updates lately (and there are lots coming) but Jeff even commented on how random the items in my purse are!

So here you go this is my purse in all its glory! Always tossed on the bottom of the stairs when I get home.

And here is all the stuff that was in there

Water, wallet, credit card holder, make up holder, powder compact, 4 tubes of lip gloss, lip liner, 3 tubes lipstick, 1 tube chapstick, 3 pens, 2 sets of car keys for the same car (don't know why?), house keys, cap to the pacifier, 2 hair ties, 9 bobby pins, cell phone (for once, I always forget it!!), the sleeve to for my coffee cup, sunglasses, hair brush, receipts (I need to get my dry cleaning), bra (yes, that is really in there...kinda embarrassing...but it is usually in there about half thru my errands when I have to nurse Ethan and then stays there...apparently I have no shame anymore, and my sweatshirt because it is super cold here! There were flip flops in there too but I had to use them before I got the picture taken!!

Hope you enjoyed this Meg!!
